At Berry Pomeroy CE Parochial Primary School, we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our pupils whatever their needs or abilities. We recognise that all pupils are entitled to a quality of provision that will enable them to achieve both their academic and social potential.

We believe in positive intervention, removing barriers to learning, raising expectations and levels of achievement and working in partnership with parents/ carers and other agencies in order to provide a positive educational experience for all our pupils including those with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND).

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Mrs Emily Hanbury, works closely with teaching staff and teaching assistants to ensure that we give all children the best opportunities in school.  We will always talk to you if we have concerns about your child and are happy to talk with you if you have concerns.

Reasonable adjustments are made to ensure that all pupils access the curriculum and we aim to prevent disabled pupils in our school being placed at a substantial disadvantage. We take steps to ensure that people with a disability are not treated differently, knowing we have succeeded when disabled pupils are participating fully in school life. A copy of the schools Accessibility Plan can be found below.

Berry Pomeroy is an inclusive school and we recognise that every child is unique and as so we personalise learning to meet the needs of our pupils. Our SEND information report provides details about how we support pupils with SEND in our school. This report is reviewed annually, taking into consideration the views of parents/carers. It is monitored, evaluated and ratified by our governing body through our SEND governor. The SEND Information Report should be read alongside the schools SEND Policy which can be found below.
