Role of the Governors

The board of governors has three core functions:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the schools and its pupils; and
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure money is well spent.

    The full governing board meets monthly during term time. There are 9 governor positions on the board:

    1 headteacher

    1 member of staff (elected by the staff in the school)

    1 LA (appointed by the LA)

    2 parents (elected by the parents at the school)

    2 foundation (appointed by the Diocese)

    2 co-opted (appointed by the governing board)
