At Berry Pomeroy, emphasis is placed on a strong Home/School partnership involving two-way communication and trust. We believe that children learn best when home and school work together, and we value and appreciate the important role you have to play in supporting your child and helping them to develop a positive attitude to school and learning. Research has shown that children learn best when home and school work in partnership. Parental support and encouragement is considered an essential factor in helping children to achieve their goals. Children coming into the school bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the world around them. It is our aim to build on these skills and promote a willingness and enthusiasm to learn more
Parental Support – As well as supporting your child at home we value your support on our exciting school trips, listening to reading, working alongside children in art activities, library maintenance as well as the more general activities such as photocopying, laminating and mounting which are equally as valuable releasing staff from time consuming tasks so that they can focus their time on the provision offered for your children. We are also fortunate to be able to use the amazing talents of our parents to support the curriculum. Our very active PTFA organise many successful fund raising events and an activity day for the children each term. Help and support is greatly appreciated by the school and is of benefit to the children. If you would like to help, please make contact with any of the teachers or through the school office. Regular volunteers are required to complete a CRB check as required in our safeguarding policy.
